Happy Birthday Card

I painted this tag using my favourite Altenew flower stamp. First I white embossed on a scrap of watercolour paper and then painted with my Kuratake watercolours using blues and the shimmery white which left a beautiful sparkle on the flowers..

Leaves in two tones of green. Once finished I die cut with the stitches die.
I just poked a hole in the top and threaded thru about eight fine silver threads twisted
together. Once I had tied it off it was too light in weight and drifted everywhere. I was
going to twist again and glue then decided to use the little blue misshaped beads. Each
bead is hanging off one thread that I just put a single knot in thinned of.

Decided I use a blue cardbase and apiece of vellum with the white swirl
pattern on it. I cut the vellum so it was the same size as the front of the
card and hung slightly over the top of the card so I could attached from behind.
I decided to attached the vellum at an angle so the card base could be seen as well.

Attached the tag onto the vellum, twisted the silver thread and attached
at the side just under the tag so the tape wasn't visible. This made a beautiful
Birthday Card for mum to give to a friend. Left without a sentiment on the outside as
it was busy enough as it was.

I have a few favourite techniques but my biggest favourite is colouring, whether its paint, pencil or copics. There is nothing more relaxing and rewarding.

Thank you for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Altenew flowers, no line colouring.

I have been playing away with my copics and this time I decided to try the no line colouring. As you can see its still a learning process as to what ink colour to use when using Distress Ink for the outlines.

I love the Altenew flowers as they are so soft and beautiful to colour. In this instance
I have stamped the flowers and leaves in Distress ink 'Old Paper'.
Colouring with Copics then finished off with pencils to add the fine line details on the flowers.

I cut the panel to size and added to the green card base and added a large gem in the corner.

I am really happy with the end result, too busy I think to be considered CAS
but certainly a learners curve.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope you visit again soon.

Smile

A sweet little Tiddy Inks image and such a simple easy card. Coloured with copics.

If you click on the image which enlarges you can see a bit of sparkle on the T-shirt. Of course you can ignore the colour bleed on the leash, doesn't look that bad at normal size. This is what happens when you use plain card stock rather than a copic friendly one.

Can see the sparkle a bit better here. Aren't these little puppies so cute.

Once I had finished colouring I used the rectangle die cut that cuts add stitch marks to both the cut out layer and the negative die cut. I did this again with the orange card base then replaced the orange rectangle with the coloured image.
Finished the card off with the smile die cut. I cut the word out in gold mirror card and a couple of times in white and layered. I replaced the gold dot of the 'i' with an orange gem (cause I couldn't find the die cut dot).

Pucker Up Buttercup and Two Sentiments

Does this girl have attitude or what!!! Love her, purchased this image from Mo's Digital Pencil a while ago but haven't had a chance to colour so got stuck in a few days ago and coloured a collection of cards. This is the start of them.

With this one I wanted her to be blonde, green eyes. Felt it came out okay and decided to put her on a bright pink cardbase with a layer of fun foam between her and the card. Finished her off with 3 little gems, a wee bit of sparkle on her top and some glossy accents on her lips.

I cracked up laughing as I was editing this photo, she looks like she has just blown a bubble. Big bubbles no troubles, will need to watch my Glossy accents better when adding. I like the way the shadows actually look as though they are going across her face, so quite pleased with this image.

The girl comes with the two sentiments. Love this one ' Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful......hate me becauseI'm younger than you are!'. And of course the 'Pucker Up Buttercup'.

In this instance I have decided to go with blue eyes, top and blonde/brown hair. Added glitter to the top the same as the other image.

Sultry isn't she. Glossy Accents a bit better here. Then decide to have a go at making a part Acetate card.

Bought a 12 x 12 pad of spots and stripes acetate in all rainbow colours. I cut them all down to 6x6 so I would use them up. I attached a piece of card stock at the back by making the card stock slightly longer than the acetate then turned down an edge that I attached the acetate to. Used the purple stripes to hide the double sided tape.

Cut down my image to fit on the large card and show plenty of acetate. attached with double sided tape and hide on the inside by attaching another piece of card stock on the inside.

A few purple gems and all done.

Since theres not much going on at the moment with Challenges slowing down and people getting into Christmas/New Year mode I though I would space out my colouring to two a day.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit and come again soon.

This is sadly the last Challenge to be held at Papertake Weekly and the choice is yours to what previous challenge you want to use. I have gone with probably the easiest way to go 'Anything Goes'. Thank you so much ladies for the wonderful challenges you have had and the inspiration on the blog. You will be missed.

I have not gone with the optional twist of Non traditional Christmas.

The image I have used I have had for quite some time, and the striped acetate is new.

Thanks and all that glitters

I finished this card and got ready to take photos and it started to rain. We have been absolutely sweltering here and when I want to share the bling of this card, it rains. Good old Murphy hey.

You are just going to have to believe me when I say this card totally glitters and sparkles.

This one shows the glittery sparkle better. This was one of those cards that the idea just popped into my head and I thought Altenew flowers are perfect for. The more I thought about it the more I thought I had seen something like this so spent many hours trying to find it. I had, and mine is nowhere as good as what I had seen. The original post was by Tasnim (Cards and Bookmarks) and it was absolutely brilliant. No wonder the memory stuck and I think its funny that I had decided that only flowers from Altenew would work for what I wanted to do.

Now onto what I did for the card.  I gold embossed (but having used blues and silver glitters the gold disappeared, will have to try pinks and golds next time). Sooooo once It was gold embossed I went through my glitters.

On the little flower on the right on the card I did three different blues but the last two were too close and I just couldn't get the right mix so I added silver to the bigger flower. Because the flower outline is lovely and fine the gold tends to disappear. You can see it better here in this close up.

I used a liquid glue pen and just added the glue I needed for each colour, so all the darker blue then the next etc till hey were all covered. I added each colour in one run, tapped off excess into a coffee filter to rebottle later. Hello glitter land.
The leaves and stems were the same, three different greens, done a colour at a time. Went back in once all dry and brushed down getting rid of excess loose glitter and then reapplied any areas where the glue had been missed.

Added a 'Thanks' silver sentiment and a few little sequins. All finished, very glittery but someone will love it I am sure.

Elysha's reaction was hands clasp to heart, then signed/said 'ohh mum it wonderful. So beautiful' so I think I hit the nail on the head there.

Time to go clean up all the glitter so I can finish off the pile of cards I have half prepared. You have no idea how much colouring I have been doing but you are soon to find out.

I would like to post this to:

This is my third card and there are only three days
left of this challenge. So sad to see it go.

Okay thats it for today but be ready for a good read on Wednesday (Tuesday in some places)
and all those copic coloured cards. Just so you don't get bored over the lead up to Christmas ok!!

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Merry Christmas and a Little Extra

Very simple one layer card start to finish 15 minutes. This is another of Mo's wonderful digital images. I did lots of cards last year with this image but only the one this year cause I now have toooo much to choose from.

I coloured this image in with copics and it has gone through to the back but I always put a liner sheet in so I'm not worried. Kept it very simple using three red shades and a lovely soft green and shadow for the top. Dotted lots of dots in pale blue and pale green. Only problem with red is that it is really easy to have bits of overflow (show that is) so I used the colourless blender to remove as much as possible. It is more obvious in the photos than IRL.

Close up here shows just how cute this little bub is and at the moment it reminds me of my youngest grandson who is always, always smiling and has the deepest chuckle you ever have heard. You can see him here all dressed up for his Aunties wedding.

To add glitter I used a glue pen to fill in where I wanted the glitter to go and used the Martha Steward ultra fine white glitter. Check out the sparkle.

So I think the card fits the bill: Looks CAS to me, one layer and what's in my stocking?
Well all I want for Christmas is my grandchildren visiting me on Christmas morning.

Okay thats it for today but before you go thought I would share some Postit Note holders I made for Elysha to take to her program yesterday to give to the staff as it was the last day.

Nothing too exciting and not all of them but gives you an idea of what they are like. So easy to make and everyone seems to enjoy using them. Great way to use up scraps of paper and bits of embossed paper and some of the butterflies and flowers I always seem to be colouring in.

I have containers full of flowers and butterflies as they are so easy to do when you are stuck at appointments for up to 4 and even 7 hours waiting to see specialists. I hate to just sit and love reading but find after a while reading makes me feel like sleeping so bits of everything keep me alert.
Ahh the joys of having a daughter with a few additional health issues and parents who can not longer do appointments on their own.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Merry Christmas My Love

Decided to stamp these two together and add a little gem heart
to use as a card to give to my husband. Did my colouring with copics, all very
simple and easy.

As my little female doesn't have any feet or boots I decided she
should be standing in a snow drift, thats what the glossy accents and glitter
is suppose to look like.

I love the cute little heart gem.

I don't know why but in the photo the glitter and glossy accents look
like the birds have had a wee but as you can see in the close up shot it doesn't look
like this. Photography trick!!!

Finished off with a sentiment from the Joy Clare set called 'Joyful Wishes'. I love the font used for this set.

Short post today, so thank you for visiting and I hope you come again soon.

12 Days of Christmas

This is a very photo intensive post as there are photos of each of the cards on their own. Not too much blah blah just lots of photos.

Couple of group shots first.

In this one you can see the Christmas star hanging off my lamp. Only Christmas decoration done so far :)

All the images are stamped on watercolour paper.

Coloured with Zig watercolours.

Bits of sparkle added with glitter pens and Glossy Accents here and there.

Die cut with stitched die and added to a layer of red glitter paper.

Added to the base of the card and stamped sentiments for some direct to card.

On others I have added a small tag, piece of Christmas ribbon and a big fat gem.

On all bar one I added the sentiment that goes with
these stamps by stamping on a piece of paper.

Fussy cut sentiments and silver pen to fill in the number on the sentiment.

This stamp set is from Penny Black and so cute.
Many of these images could be used for other things as well.

In this instance I added some mini gems to the Lords cloak.

Did this ones cheeks really red as he was looking puffed out.

Final one, totally rad rocker.

I hope you enjoyed your visit and come again soon.

I would like to add my '9 Ladies Dancing' to:

Definitely one of my favourite techniques - colouring.

With each Challenge I am assuming I cannot add all the cards in the set so have added the card that I wanted to add for that challenge as the photo to their page but incase its not clear:

9 Ladies Dancing : Addicted to Stamps and More

12 Drummers Drumming: Happy Little Stampers

11 Pipers Piping: Penny Black and More

Thank you.
